People ask me from time to time why another officer came by on our traffic stop. I sometimes tell them I can get the whole squad to come by if I want to. Its not up to the offender how many officers come by. Traffic stops can be dangerous. So its nothing personal if another officer comes by to check on the officer that stopped you and has nothing to do with the severity of the reason why you were stopped.
As far as asking you if you’re on probation. I don’t know why they asked. There is nothing wrong with that. I ask people all the time about their criminal activity. It goes with the job.
