How do police officers know when to set a court date on traffic tickets?

I have got a Traffic ticket afew months ago that required a court appearance, and i wondered what system do police officers use to set the court date that is handwritten on the traffic ticket? Do they have a special card of available dates?

    For things like this monday traffic tuesday family court wednesday probate thursday.

    The ticket is assigned to court for which the date to either pay the court date by which cops have court clerk sets court clerk will not schedule.
